Bruins Seek Fourth Straight Win at Injury-Hit Ducks
Boston visits Anaheim on Friday after opening its road trip with a 6-3 win over San Jose, extending its winning streak to three games. The Bruins have started 5-2, with goalie Jeremy Swayman, depth scoring and the return of defenseman Charlie McAvoy helping drive their strong early form, though coach Marco Sturm said the San Jose performance was sloppy and outshot. Anaheim is 4-2 and has won five straight matchups against Boston, but has lost two of three at home this season. The Ducks could be short-handed at center, with Ryan Poehling out with a knee injury and captain Mikael Granlund doubtful because of a lower-body injury. Boston’s more reliable defensive and shot-generation profile gives it an edge, while Anaheim’s home ice and power play offer paths to an upset.
