Buc-ee’s Plans $60 Million Rocky Mount Travel Center

Buc-ee’s is pursuing a travel center on about 34 acres near the Interstate 95 and Highway 4 interchange in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, which could become its second location in the state alongside a store under construction in Alamance County. The proposed 74,000-square-foot facility would include 120 fueling positions and is projected to create about 200 jobs, bring more than $60 million in private investment and generate over $30 million in annual taxable sales. The project still needs city planning and rezoning approvals, and Buc-ee’s is working with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and local lawmakers on highway improvements to support the development; no opening date has been announced.
