Salesforce agrees to acquire Braze in $5.66B deal

Salesforce agreed on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, to buy Braze for about $5.66 billion in enterprise value, or $47.50 a share in cash—about 58% above Braze's last close of $30.04. Braze trading was halted before the open; its shares surged more than 50% in premarket while Salesforce fell about 3%. Patrick Stokes, Salesforce president of applications and marketing, said Braze was built to turn live customer behavior into personalized engagement at scale. Braze CEO Bill Magnuson said Salesforce's platform would help Braze build products faster; he and co-founder Jon Hyman still lead. Braze serves about 2,770 customers. Quarterly revenue rose 26% to $227.2 million, and the company expects about $910 million in sales this year. Salesforce plans to combine Braze with Marketing Cloud, its customer data platforms, and Agentforce. The deal needs shareholder and regulatory approval and is expected to close in Salesforce's fiscal 2028, starting February 2027. Salesforce said it anticipates no change to fiscal 2027 guidance and offered no fiscal 2028 guidance.
