Hooters Closes Three Locations in Chicago, Atlanta
Hooters closed its River North restaurant at 660 N. Wells Street in Chicago after 35 years, citing the end of its lease and neighborhood development. The closure does not end the chain’s Chicago-area presence: 13 franchise restaurants and two Hoots Wings locations remain open. In metro Atlanta, closures in Kennesaw and Conyers leave two Hooters restaurants, in Cartersville and Buford. The closures follow Hooters of America’s 2025 Chapter 11 bankruptcy and the founders’ reacquisition of the chain. CEO Neil Kiefer said the company is reviewing locations and plans to refresh its culture, menu, uniforms and stores; he said closures are not a judgment on staff or communities.
