Archer Plans Three Texas Air Taxi Networks

Archer Aviation plans electric air-taxi networks in Austin, Houston and Dallas–Fort Worth, targeting the Texas Triangle’s more than 20 million residents. Its piloted, four-seat Midnight aircraft could connect airports with business districts and destinations such as Galveston and the Circuit of the Americas, replacing some 60- to 90-minute drives with flights of about 10 to 20 minutes. In North Texas, proposed routes include DFW, Love Field and other regional airports, with local transportation funding supporting electric-aircraft charging infrastructure at several airports. Archer has discussed demonstrations or testing in Texas next year, but commercial service depends on regulatory approval for Midnight, which remains pending. The expansion follows Archer’s recent California flight tour and comes amid growing political support for advanced aviation in Texas.
