Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Files for Bankruptcy Listing Super Bowl Ring
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Texas, listing about $677,000 in assets against $3.46 million in liabilities, including more than $3.2 million in unsecured debt. Much of his debt stems from civil claims and legal costs related to a 2024 high-speed Dallas-area crash that injured several people; one victim received a $1 million judgment, and Rice’s paychecks have been garnished toward it. His assets include deferred compensation, a Mercedes-Benz and his Super Bowl LVIII ring, valued at $160,000 and listed as collateral for attorney’s fees. Rice pleaded guilty to two felonies over the crash in 2025 and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years’ probation; after violating probation with a positive THC test, he served the jail term. He has returned to play for Kansas City and is in the final year of his rookie contract.
