Sam Fox Leaves Restaurant Group, Plans Hotel Growth

Sam Fox has left Fox Restaurant Concepts, the company he founded in 1998 and sold to The Cheesecake Factory in 2019 for more than $350 million, after staying on to lead the business. He is focusing on Author & Edit Hospitality, whose plans include expanding The Global Ambassador, the Phoenix hotel that opened in 2023, into a national brand and pursuing other hotel projects. The venture also includes Nashville’s Twelve Thirty Club and a planned Austin location. Fox expects to open select restaurants, including projects in Nashville, Austin and Dallas, and develop new hotel and hospitality concepts. He said the move lets him return to building a smaller, entrepreneurial business and expressed confidence in Fox Restaurant Concepts and its parent company.
