ByteDance Founder Reclaims China’s Richest Title on AI
ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming reclaimed the top spot on China’s rich list, with an estimated fortune of $100 billion, up 43% as the company expands in artificial intelligence. Hurun Research Institute said ByteDance’s Doubao is China’s most-used AI assistant and identified AI as a major source of wealth growth, with about one in 10 people on its list making their fortunes in the sector. The list also showed gains for entrepreneurs in semiconductors and robotics, while fortunes in consumer businesses and real estate came under pressure. Bottled-water magnate Zhong Shanshan fell to second place with $61 billion, while CATL chairman Robin Zeng ranked third.
