California Cities Expect Midweek Rain, Cooler Weather
Across the West Coast, unusually warm, sunny weather is giving way to cooler conditions and a chance of rain, though timing and impact vary by city. San Diego is forecast to turn cooler before showers and possible thunderstorms arrive Wednesday night into Thursday, with locally heavy rain possible. San Francisco and the Bay Area are also expected to cool after a warm spell, with limited rain chances early to midweek; a Fire Weather Watch covers North Bay interior mountains, where dry air and gusty winds could increase fire danger. Dangerous surf is expected along San Diego County beaches through Tuesday morning, while San Francisco’s Pacific-facing beaches face sneaker waves, strong rip currents and large surf through Sunday evening. Seattle should remain mostly dry and mild, with sunshine Sunday and only a chance of showers later in the week.
