California Man Charged Over Mosque Death Threat

Louis White, 60, of Warner Springs, California, faces federal charges for allegedly mailing the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley a letter threatening to kill Muslims. The letter reportedly included a drawing of a bearded figure in crosshairs and an anti-Muslim slur, and investigators allegedly linked it to White through a fingerprint and his subsequent statements to authorities. A search of his home found multiple firearms, including a short-barreled AR-15-style rifle without a serial number, as well as ammunition; he also faces state charges related to alleged threats and weapons possession. White is being held in Riverside County and is expected to be transferred to federal custody, while the federal charge carries a maximum sentence of five years. The allegations come months after a separate shooting at an Islamic center in San Diego that killed three people, and White is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
