California Storms Bring Flood Advisories, Hail
Rain and thunderstorms are affecting parts of California, including San Jose and Fresno, while a separate autumn storm brings localized downpours to Southern California. Forecasters warn of slick roads, reduced visibility, gusty winds and, in some areas, flooding; a strong storm in northeastern Fresno County may also produce small hail and frequent lightning. Flood advisories are in effect in parts of coastal and mountainous Southern California, where officials caution residents near burn scars about flash flooding and debris flows. Conditions are expected to improve Friday, with sunny, warmer and mostly dry weather forecast across the Bay Area and Central Valley through the weekend.
