Career events connect students with consulting firms and skilled trades
Across several education initiatives, students are getting hands-on exposure to career options and direct access to employers. Miami University’s student-led Consulting Week connected students with consulting firms through panels, information sessions, a networking event and a case competition, while a new Tampa workforce center is introducing young people to fields including skilled trades, technology, finance and health care. In Indiana, a career expo brought 750 high school students together with colleges, businesses and other organizations for practical activities and career exploration. Warrington & Vale Royal College’s Careers Week offered employer talks, mock interviews, university guidance and industry experiences, including potential construction placements. Together, the programs aim to build employability skills and help students discover pathways they may not have considered.
