Carneiro's Walk-Off Kick Lifts Ole Miss, 41-38
No. 9 Ole Miss defeated No. 24 Louisville 41-38 in the Music City Kickoff when Lucas Carneiro made a 48-yard field goal as time expired. The Rebels led 38-24 late in the fourth quarter, but Louisville rallied to tie the game with 1:28 remaining behind first-time starting quarterback Lincoln Kienholz. Trinidad Chambliss threw three touchdown passes and ran for another, while Deuce Alexander had 159 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his first start for Ole Miss. Ole Miss then used key completions from Chambliss to reach Louisville territory and ran down the clock before Carneiro’s winning kick, giving coach Pete Golding a victory in his first season opener.
