Carrot Top Released From Hospital After Alleged Suicide Attempt

Comedian Carrot Top has been released from the Las Vegas hospital following his suicide attempt.

Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, is now at home with his family and doing well, his publicist Jami Schlicher told USA TODAY Saturday.

No additional details were available.

Thompson, 61, was hospitalized after an alleged suicide attempt on Sept. 18, TMZ reported.

On Sept. 21, Schlicher confirmed Thompson was "breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him."

Carrot Top's hospitalization came as a legal dispute with former friend and opening act Brian Evans continues. In an emergency court filing, the comedian's lawyer accused Evans of using threats to disclose private material to demand money and asked a Florida court to restrict Evans' future filings. Evans has denied the extortion allegations.

Schlicher previously said Thompson and his family remain "deeply grateful for the extraordinary kindness and continue to ask that his privacy be respected."
