Cavanagh and Hood Win Reelection to Michigan Supreme Court
Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh and Justice Noah Hood won reelection in a six-candidate race, preserving the court’s 6–1 majority of Democratic-nominated justices. Though candidates appear without party labels on the ballot, political parties nominate them; Cavanagh and Hood defeated Republican-backed and U.S. Taxpayers Party challengers. Cavanagh said she would approach her new term with humility and a commitment to equal justice, while Michigan Democrats praised both justices for upholding the state constitution and rule of law.
