Saudi Arabia’s Ceer Unveils First Domestic EVs

Ceer, the joint venture of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and Foxconn launched in 2022, held the world premiere of its Exobot sedan and SUV at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City, with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman attending. The First Edition three-motor AWD models produce 850 PS (838 hp) and 1,000 Nm, taking the sedan to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and the SUV in 2.9 seconds, with a 112 kWh battery rated at 670 km sedan and 560 km SUV NEDC range; top trims reach 1,111 hp, 1,500 Nm and 2.1/2.4-second times. BMW provided a 2022 technology license; Rimac Technology supplies the rear drive unit, Hyundai Transys the front motors and Foxconn the platform. Features include gullwing doors, a 48-inch 8K Digital Horizon Display, 800-volt architecture with 250 kW charging and Halo Cooling. Gulf deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027, with five further models planned and an $8 billion GDP target by 2034.
