Centene Raises 2026 Forecast After Earnings Beat

Centene beat third-quarter expectations, reporting adjusted earnings of 58 cents per share and revenue of $50.65 billion, while its medical care ratio was 92.7%, roughly in line with the year-earlier period and below analysts’ estimate. The insurer raised its 2026 adjusted earnings forecast to more than $5.20 per share and increased its revenue outlook to $196.5 billion to $200.5 billion, citing stronger-than-expected progress in its core businesses. Medicare and Medicaid revenue grew, while commercial and other revenue declined. Despite the results and improved outlook, Centene shares fell in premarket trading.
