Champion Super Corredora Wins Zenyatta, Earns Breeders’ Cup Berth
Super Corredora returned from a six-month layoff with a wire-to-wire victory in the Grade 2 Zenyatta Stakes at Santa Anita, winning by 2¾ lengths under first-time rider Joel Rosario. The reigning champion 2-year-old filly set the pace and held off Majestic Oops, with Rabeeba finishing third. Trainer John Sadler said the comeback went as hoped despite a brief concern when the filly reared in the starting gate. The win earned Super Corredora a fees-paid berth in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Keeneland on Oct. 31, where she will return after winning last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
