ChargePoint taps 25-year mobility veteran to lead Europe growth

ChargePoint has appointed John Saffrett as executive vice president and managing director for Europe, directing the company’s growth strategy, sales, partnerships, and market expansion across European markets. He will report to CEO Rick Wilmer and has been a member of ChargePoint’s Advisory Council since March 2026. Saffrett brings more than 25 years of leadership in mobility, with recent roles including global deputy CEO of Ayvens and senior positions at ALD Automotive, focusing on fleet management, digital transformation, and large-scale operations. The appointment signals ChargePoint’s intensified push into Europe amid growing demand for EV charging solutions and leverages Saffrett’s experience in integrating large fleet management businesses across 40+ countries.
