Charleston Museum Celebrates African American Homecoming

Two community events celebrated local history and brought residents together. Charleston’s International African American Museum held its 2026 Homecoming with music, storytelling, vendors and children’s activities, while honoring African American culture and the legacy of civil rights activists such as Freedom Rider Joan Mulholland. In Waterloo, Ohio, Waterloo Wonders Day celebrated the town’s high school basketball team, which won consecutive state championships in 1934 and 1935; the event also featured memorabilia, contests and a historical presentation and raised funds for WOW Ministries.
