Chicago Federal Building Gunfire Leaves One in Custody

A man was taken into custody after gunfire was reported early Tuesday near Chicago’s Kluczynski Federal Building in the Loop. Authorities said no one was injured, though federal property sustained minor damage, and police recovered a firearm. Charges were pending, and officials had not identified a motive or said whether the building was targeted. The courthouse remained open, and officials said there was no continuing threat.
