Chili cook-offs planned across communities
Several communities are hosting chili cook-offs and related events this fall. Moosehaven in Orange Park, Florida, is inviting the public to a fundraiser featuring chili, live music, classic cars, crafts and activities for children, with proceeds benefiting veterans nonprofit Operation Lifeline. On Nov. 7, the Smith Mountain Lake Chili and Craft Festival in Moneta, Virginia, will feature nine competing chili teams, vendors and live music, while Savannah’s Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island holds its 28th annual cook-off the same day to raise money for at-risk children. Eyer Middle School in Pennsylvania is seeking chili competitors and craft vendors for its Nov. 21 cook-off and fair, which will bring students, families and community members together.
