Curious how this affects everyday depositors. Does this stabilize things or just prop up institutions that should be restructured?
Every time I see "state banks" and "recapitalization" in the same headline it tells me the bad loan problem is bigger than the official numbers show.
billion yuan is a lot of confidence to buy back with cash. Wonder if it actually fixes the balance sheets or just kicks the can down the road.
