China to send envoys to Iran Saudi Arabia and four African nations

China will send special envoys to Iran, Oman and Saudi Arabia in early to mid-November, while other Chinese diplomats visit Ethiopia, Djibouti, Egypt and Eritrea, as Beijing seeks to promote dialogue and reduce regional tensions. The Foreign Ministry said the trips are intended to support peace talks and regional stability. In a separate meeting with an Iranian security official, Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged parties to pursue political solutions rather than return to armed conflict and said China supports Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty and security.
