China Calls US Midterms Internal Matter but Offers Cooperation
China described the U.S. midterm elections as an internal matter and said it remains willing to work with Washington despite the change in congressional control. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning called for the two countries to uphold agreements reached by their leaders, communicate more, manage differences and expand cooperation on the basis of respect and reciprocity. Beijing framed these efforts as a way to build a constructive, strategically stable relationship amid ongoing disagreements.
