Chris Brown appears in London court for affray sentencing after club attack
Chris Brown appeared at London’s Southwark Crown Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to affray over a 2023 attack on music producer Abraham Diaw at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair. Prosecutors said Brown hit Diaw over the head with a bottle and chased him through the venue, while Brown’s friend and vocal coach Omololu Akinlolu also pleaded guilty to affray for joining the assault. Prosecutors dropped more serious assault and grievous-bodily-harm charges after the pleas. Affray carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison, though a prison term could be suspended. Brown was arrested in Manchester in May 2025 after returning to the UK and was released on bail after agreeing to pay £5 million in security.
