Chris Paul mural unveiled at Winston-Salem park

Winston-Salem unveiled a colorful mural honoring hometown basketball star Chris Paul at Rupert Bell Park, a longtime community court where Paul said he grew up playing and still feels at home. The artwork, created by Brian Peterson with The Urbane Artist, celebrates Paul’s influence on and off the court and the role of sports, mentorship and community. Local residents helped shape the project, and four Winston-Salem State University art students worked as paid interns on the mural. The park’s court also received new baskets and fresh paint, with organizers and Paul emphasizing its value as a safe place for young people to play and grow.
