Christmas Angel Tree programs seek volunteers, applicants
Salvation Army branches in Midland-Odessa, Jackson, Tampa and Johnson City are seeking community support for Christmas assistance, including adopting Angel Tree children or seniors, donating gifts and volunteering to sort and distribute presents or staff Red Kettles. Jackson residents can adopt Angels in person or online, while Johnson City’s program is seeking gifts for 1,014 children, with gifts due by Nov. 18. Tampa needs volunteers for its Angel Tree program during late November and December, and Midland-Odessa is recruiting bell ringers and warehouse helpers in addition to Angel Tree adopters. Separately, the United Way of Eastern Utah is accepting applications for its Castle Country Angels Tree program, which connects eligible families with sponsors; applicants must provide income verification and photo ID, and deadlines vary for family and adult applications. The organizations say these efforts help ease the holiday burden on families and ensure children and other community members receive gifts.
