Chrysler recalls 239,131 Ram 1500 trucks over rearview camera issue

Chrysler is recalling 239,131 Ram 1500 pickup trucks from the 2025 and 2026 model years because infotainment software may prevent the rearview camera image from appearing when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. The defect means the trucks may not comply with federal rear-visibility requirements and could increase the risk of a backing collision or injury. Chrysler reported no accidents or injuries linked to the issue. The repair, involving a free over-the-air or dealer-installed software update, requires no hardware changes; owner notification letters are expected by Sept. 24, 2026, and affected VINs can be checked through NHTSA or Ram recall resources.
