Churches Advance Ministry Initiatives Across Communities
Church organizations are pursuing varied efforts to strengthen parish life and connect with their communities. Taylor University says it supports pastors from 19 local churches through prayer and encouragement, while its Church Week brought 27 churches and ministries to campus and its Rural Ministry Initiative offers ministry leaders resources, training and mentorship. In North Carolina, the Diocese of Raleigh plans at least 12 listening sessions for teenagers and young adults in 2026–27 to hear their experiences and inform how the Church supports them. The Archdiocese of Washington has helped nearly 40 parish communities improve communications, particularly Spanish-language outreach, through consultations, training and practical guidance. In Vietnam, Sacred Heart Parish has enrolled in a “Three Good Parish” program linking religious practice with compliance with state policies and laws and community welfare work, with results to be assessed in 2027.
