Churches Plan Nov. 1 Prayer for Persecuted Christians
Southern Baptist groups, including the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and International Mission Board, are urging churches to observe the Nov. 1 International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians, with an estimated 388 million believers facing extreme persecution worldwide. The call comes amid reports of deadly attacks, including killings in Jordan and Ethiopia, underscoring the risks many Christians face because of their faith. Voice of the Martyrs says the annual observance grew from persecuted Christians’ own requests for prayer and encourages churches to support them throughout the year.
