Cipla Q2 profit falls 35%, misses estimates
Cipla’s second-quarter FY27 revenue fell 2.4% year over year to ₹7,404 crore, while net profit dropped about 35% to ₹878 crore, missing analyst expectations. EBITDA declined 26.7% to ₹1,388 crore, and its margin narrowed to 18.7% from 25% a year earlier, though revenue, EBITDA and profit improved sequentially from the June quarter. Weaker U.S. sales—including muted generic Revlimid sales and competition—contributed to the results; North American revenue fell 19%. India was a bright spot, with One India sales growing 12% to a quarterly high, while Cipla also secured U.S. FDA approval for generic Advair Diskus and announced a Qilu partnership for a Keytruda biosimilar.
