Cities plan hazardous-waste, recycling events
Several communities are holding waste-reduction events that offer residents ways to reuse or safely dispose of unwanted materials. Chandler’s Nov. 6 giveaway will provide eligible residents up to 10 free, gently used household hazardous products; it is not a drop-off event, and residents need proof of residency. Cape Coral’s Nov. 7 collection event will accept household chemical waste and bulky items, with other disposal options available between events. In Sun Lakes, a Rotary Club electronics drive on Oct. 25 will collect devices for recycling or refurbishment for Arizona schools and nonprofits. Wareham’s Nov. 7 event will offer free document shredding and electronics collection, with fees for some appliances and equipment.
