Cities Plan Multiple Waste Drop-Off Events
Several communities are holding free household hazardous-waste collection events for residents. Auburn’s event is scheduled for Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; residents may bring up to 20 pounds of accepted materials, and electronics recycling and document shredding will also be available. Rutherford County residents can drop off household hazardous waste in Murfreesboro on Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon, while oil-based paint and electronics must be taken to a separate site. A collection in Simsbury on Oct. 10 is open to residents of six nearby Connecticut towns, with proof of residency required. Foxborough’s collection is set for Oct. 17, and materials must be kept in their original containers and packed upright in sturdy containers.
