Cities Report Road, Utility Work Updates
Northfield has completed street and utility extensions, including Jefferson Parkway and Sandstone Street, near a proposed water treatment plant, but the plant remains on hold with no construction plan. The surrounding fields are privately owned and outside city limits; the article suggests the infrastructure may have been built in anticipation of future plant construction and development, but says the city has not explained the rationale. In Mankato, utility work on Mound Avenue near Owatonna Street is scheduled to begin October 19 and last three to five days, with a detour as work progresses and access maintained on Spence Street. In Windsor, Cora Greenwood Drive is scheduled for alternating single-lane traffic during milling and paving from October 21 to 23, weather permitting.
