Climb Bio Reports 38% Immunologic Remission
At the American Society of Nephrology’s Kidney Week 2026, Climb Bio reported early Phase 2 results for budoprutug in primary membranous nephropathy (pMN). In the 200-mg cohort, five of 13 patients achieved immunologic remission by Week 12, with mean PLA2R antibody levels down 70%; early results at 600 mg showed greater drug exposure and deeper B-cell suppression, though follow-up was shorter. The drug was generally well tolerated in the reported cohorts, and enrollment continues at 1,000 mg; the company expects more trial data in 2027. A separate case report described a patient with frequently relapsing minimal change disease who remained in steroid-free remission for three years after budoprutug treatment. Climb Bio and Beijing Mabworks also presented Phase 1 findings for CLYM116/MIL116, a distinct IgA nephropathy candidate: single doses of 480 mg or more sustained over 90% APRIL suppression through 12 weeks, and the companies said the results support dosing every 12 weeks.
