Clubs Open Senior Housing, Expand Youth Programs

Worcester’s former Boys Club has been redeveloped as The Residences on Lincoln Square, an $51 million affordable housing complex for adults 55 and older. The project preserves the historic club building, which had been vacant since 2006, and adds a five-story apartment building, creating 80 homes; 68 are reserved for households earning up to 60% of area median income and 12 for those earning up to 30%. The development is fully leased and includes accessible apartments, shared amenities, and energy-efficient, all-electric construction. Officials described the project as an example of how historic buildings can be repurposed to expand housing in city centers.
