Cold snap, snow forecasts span North America
A sharp late-October change is bringing colder, unsettled weather to parts of western Canada and the northern Rockies. In Alberta, rain turned to heavy, wet snow amid strong winds, creating poor visibility and slick roads; snow and below-normal temperatures are expected to persist. Montana forecasts call for rain and high-elevation snow, with several inches possible in mountain areas and strong winds in some counties, while longer-range outlooks favor a milder, potentially drier winter. Southeast Wyoming is also expected to turn cooler, with weekend rain and a chance of snow or a rain-snow mix, though significant accumulation is not expected.
