College Soccer Teams Prepare for Pivotal Matches
Several women’s college soccer teams enter pivotal late-season matches with conference standings and postseason berths at stake. North Texas hosts rival UTSA in its final home game, needing wins in its last two matches and outside help to reach the conference tournament; the game also marks the end of the 32-season tenure of the program’s founding head coach. Valparaiso faces UIC while trying to secure a top-six finish and a place in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, while Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State meet with NSIC positioning on the line: a UMD win would clinch third place, and a Bemidji State win could move the Beavers into the top four. Eastern Michigan, third in the MAC, closes the regular season against Akron and Massachusetts, with tournament seeding at stake in both matches.
