Colorado State DC Sleeps at Facility Amid Rebuild
Colorado State defensive coordinator Kenny McClendon has been living and sleeping in the football facility since taking over play-calling duties during the Rams’ Oct. 3 loss to Oregon State, as he works to address the team’s defensive struggles. Head coach Jim Mora said staff converted a linebacker coach’s office into a bedroom for McClendon, whose wife, Mickey Grace, has also helped him prepare by running through defensive scenarios while their daughters sleep nearby. Colorado State’s defense continued to struggle in McClendon’s first full game as play-caller, allowing 66 points, and ranks among the nation’s worst in points and yards allowed. Mora has expressed confidence in McClendon while emphasizing the need for greater consistency.
