Columbia County Sees Third E-Bike Fatality in Month

A 65-year-old e-bike rider, identified as Jeffery Beard, died after a 2010 Toyota Corolla struck his bicycle on Old Louisville Road near Grovetown, Georgia. Beard was traveling in the traffic lane and was thrown from the bike in the collision. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and later reports say charges against the car’s driver are pending. The crash was described as the county’s third e-bike fatality in a month.
