Columbus NWSL Club Breaks Ground on 45,000-Square-Foot Facility
Columbus’ NWSL expansion club has broken ground on the OhioHealth Training Grounds, a 45,000-square-foot facility expected to open in January 2028 before the team’s inaugural season. Planned features include three grass pitches, three turf fields, athlete-focused training and rehabilitation spaces, and areas for childcare, media production, and youth development. The facility is intended to support the recruitment and performance of elite female athletes while also serving youth and community programs. It will also host Olympic and Paralympic soccer teams ahead of the 2028 Games, with Columbus scheduled to stage nine Olympic soccer matches; the NWSL team will play at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field.
