Comcast Plans 753 Philadelphia, New Jersey Layoffs

Comcast is cutting jobs as it restructures its cable, broadband and wireless businesses ahead of the planned separation of NBCUniversal and Sky. State notices identify 634 positions in Philadelphia and 119 across nine New Jersey counties, while reports cite additional cuts in Washington and California. Executives say the changes are part of a broader effort to reduce costs, streamline operations and expand the use of AI in customer service; Comcast says it is also hiring for other roles and hopes some affected employees will transfer within the company.
