Comedy Shows Span Venues, Include Fundraisers

Comedy events and debates are drawing attention across several communities. The all-female comedy collective Your Aunt Fanny will bring its sketch show “Crease,” featuring a true-crime hen party and other irreverent scenarios, to Cast Theatre in Doncaster. In Guelph, the Giving Back Comedy show will donate all proceeds to The Bench, while the Rotary Club of Rushden’s Comedy Wheel raised funds for charitable initiatives with a lineup of professional comics. A review of Bob Marley’s sold-out performance in Greensboro praised his extended set for keeping the audience laughing. Separately, National Review commentators defended comedian Shane Gillis amid criticism of his SNL monologue about women’s gym fashion, arguing that comedy should be allowed room to provoke without prompting outrage.
