Communities Plan Halloween Candy Crawls

Several communities and organizations are hosting Halloween candy crawls and family events, combining trick-or-treating with activities and opportunities to support local businesses. Orange Park Mall’s free indoor crawl runs Oct. 31 from noon to 2 p.m., with participating stores, games, a DJ and costumed characters; some stores will offer non-food treats for children with dietary restrictions. Downtown Meridian’s Oct. 31 event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. and includes carnival rides, vendors and a quieter Sensory Street designed to welcome people of all abilities. Sandpoint’s downtown Candy Walk runs from 3 to 5:30 p.m., with about 35 businesses handing out treats. Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s free Fall Fest in Salisbury is set for Oct. 29 from 4 to 7 p.m., featuring a campus candy crawl, children’s activities and live music. Groves’ Lincoln Avenue Candy Crawl takes place Oct. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m., with trunk-or-treating, a pet costume contest and yard games.
