Communities share holiday gifts, craft decorations
Communities are preparing for the holidays through hands-on crafting and gift-giving efforts. In Wilmington, members of the Legacy Club made Christmas bows with help from a local florist, while children and community groups in Bury St Edmunds are turning recycled cans into toy-soldier decorations for town Christmas trees. In Somerset, a campaign is collecting gifts such as blankets, books and treats for older residents who may feel isolated during the season. In Stamford, retirement-complex residents packed 68 shoeboxes of gifts for children affected by the war in Ukraine.
