Connecticut directs millions toward student support programs
Connecticut is facing rising special-education enrollment and service costs, prompting districts to seek more state funding as officials weigh how to target investments and measure their impact. A state commission reviewing K-12 funding is examining how best to support students with disabilities. Separately, Connecticut received a $4.7 million federal grant over five years to expand registered apprenticeships for special-education and early-intervention teachers, building on the state’s existing teacher apprenticeship program. The initiative aims to address a statewide shortage of special-education teachers and strengthen support for students and families.
