Coretura selection boosts QNX royalty backlog $100M+

Coretura, the software-defined vehicle venture founded by Daimler Truck and Volvo Group, has chosen Alloy Kore as the safety-certified software foundation for its commercial-vehicle platform, marking the product’s first design win. Developed jointly by BlackBerry QNX and Vector, Alloy Kore combines a real-time operating system with pre-integrated automotive software services for high-performance computing systems. The companies say the platform is intended to reduce integration work and development costs, speed vehicle software development and support ongoing updates. The deal adds more than $100 million to QNX’s royalty backlog, according to one report.
