Corpus Christi approves up to $363,000 bakery incentives

Corpus Christi officials approved up to $363,000 in economic-development incentives for Houston-based El Bolillo Bakery’s proposed Westside expansion, resolving contract-language differences between the City Council and the Type B board. The company plans to convert a vacant former Walgreens at 2101 Morgan Avenue into a wholesale bakery, regional distribution center and retail bakery. The project represents more than $6 million in private investment and is expected to create 121 permanent jobs, with an estimated annual payroll of $3.6 million; the facility is targeted to be fully operational in 2027.
