Thousands of Uncounted Ballots Could Decide Council Races in Virginia and Maryland
Local council election results remained unsettled as officials continued processing mail-in, provisional and same-day registration ballots. In Baltimore County, nearly 49,000 returned mail ballots had not yet been counted, leaving three competitive races unresolved and potentially shaping the balance on the expanded nine-member council. In Harrisonburg, Democratic incumbents Monica Robinson and Dany Fleming were projected to win, but more than 2,000 ballots could still affect the outcome. In Lynchburg, Democrats Nat Marshall, Christina Delzingaro and Dave Henderson maintained leads in the at-large races, with about 800 provisional ballots left to count.
